Addiction is an age-old but everlasting problem, and because so many new aspects have emerged recently, we need new insights and solutions. The thematic issue focuses on drug and herb abuse, alcoholism, internet addiction, and excessive smartphone use, and others. They have a significant impact not just on individual lives, but also on society as a whole. We welcome any submissions that address any aspect of these themes.
