About BEiB

Best Evidence in Brief (BEiB) is a public service with e-newsletters initiated by Professor Slavin of Johns Hopkins University in the United States of America. It was co-founded by the Center for Research and Reform in Education at Johns Hopkins University, the Institute for Effective Education (IEE) at the University of York, the Centre for University & School Partnership at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the International Research Center for Education Development and Evaluation at Nanjing Normal University. It regularly introduces excellent studies in education that were published in world-class academic journals to education professionals over the world, which includes outstanding educational studies published in journals in Chinese from China mainland. BEiB publishes summaries of educational research results not only in English, but in Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese on both websites of Best Evidence in Brief in Hong Kong and Nanjing simultaneously. It updates the published contents every two weeks on the websites.

In order to introduce the latest empirical studies in Chinese education to peer professionals all over the world, the expert committee of BEiB will anonymously and critically select those excellent education studies and recommend to be published in full text online and in print in English by the US academic journal Best Evidence in Chinese Education (BECE), of which leads by Professor Slavin as the chair of the editorial board.
