E-cigarettes have gained popularity among adolescents in recent years, with utilization rates experiencing a substantial increase. Despite their marketing as a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes continue to pose substantial health risks to juvenile users. E-cigarettes contain liquid nicotine, which can have adverse effects on the brain development of adolescents, resulting in impaired cognitive function and an increased susceptibility to addiction. Furthermore, the extensive selection of flavor options for e-cigarettes is particularly appealing to younger individuals, which has the potential to result in long-term nicotine dependent behavior. Additionally, research has demonstrated that adolescents who utilize e-cigarettes are more susceptible to transitioning to traditional cigarette smoking in the future. In order to protect the future health and well-being of this vulnerable population, it is essential for healthcare professionals and policymakers to implement measures that are designed to prevent and reduce the use of e-cigarettes by adolescents.
